EXCHANGE RESEARCH STUDENTS

“I have spent the past three weeks at ESEDS as the school’s first international research student and had a wonderful experience overall. Thanks to their connections to weaver’s villages and experts in the field I was able to gain valuable insights into sustainable textile production, which was very helpful for my master’s project. Their teaching methods are future-oriented and the school places great value on sustainability. In addition to that they have recently moved to a beautiful new campus which creates an amazing work environment for their students. I can only highly recommend the school and will hopefully be back soon!”

NADJA GREGNER

Nadja Gegner is a student from Germany who is currently studying the MA course “Sustainability in Fashion” at ESMOD Berlin. Prior to that, she completed a BA (Hons) programme in “Fashion Business” at Glasgow Caledonian University (UK) and graduated with a 1st Class Honours Degree in 2015. After her undergraduate studies, Nadja conducted a Fashion Design internship at “Vero Diaz” in Mérida (Mexico) for the duration of 3 months.

For her Masters Project at ESMOD Berlin, Nadja is concentrating on sustainable textile options and innovative fibres as an alternative to the conventional silk industry. Her focus is therefore on non-violent silk and natural fibres created from agricultural residue. The aim of her final project is to test several fibres on different sustainability aspects, and to develop a comparison tool and website in order to make designers and companies more familiar with less known fibre options.
